Your privacy

This website is run by Elīna Veinberga, trading as Born to be Beautiful by Elina Art Studio (“I”, “me”, “my”), based in Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom. This page explains what personal information I collect, why, and the rights you have. It is written to follow UK GDPR and PECR, and the EU GDPR.

What I collect

  • When you use the contact form or email me: your name, email address and the message you send (and the subject you pick). I only use this to reply to you and, if you order, to arrange your order.
  • If you message me on WhatsApp or Facebook: whatever you choose to send there. Those services have their own privacy policies.
  • Basic technical logs: like almost every website, my hosting provider may record standard server information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.

Cookies & similar technology

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores one small item in your browser (a language preference, “eas-lang”) so the site remembers whether you chose English or Latvian. That is a functional preference you asked for, so it does not need a consent banner.

For visitor statistics I use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first tool that sets no cookies and does not collect personal data or build a profile of you. It only counts anonymous, aggregate page views, which is why no cookie banner is required.

Why I am allowed to use your data (legal basis)

When you contact me, I process your data to answer your enquiry and to take steps you have asked for before any order (your request and my legitimate interest in responding). I do not send marketing emails and I do not sell your data to anyone.

Who else is involved

A few trusted providers help run the site and process your message on my behalf:

  • Formspree delivers the contact form to my inbox. Your form details pass through Formspree to reach me. See Formspree’s privacy policy.
  • My hosting provider stores and serves the website.
  • Cloudflare provides the cookieless analytics described above.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EU (for example in the USA). Where that happens, they rely on recognised safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry and order messages only as long as I need them to reply to you and to keep records of any order, and then I delete them. [Elīna: set your retention period here, e.g. “up to 24 months after our last contact.”]

Your rights

You have the right to ask me to show you the data I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to limit or object to how I use it. To do any of these, just email me and I will help. You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in Latvia, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).
